The “job builders” have had 23 years to create jobs, and have done nada, but make more money for the themselves- they wouldn’t think of riding their bomb.
How bout some facts to back it up? Last I checked Democrats have managed to pass Social Security and Medicare, while the Republicans have done their hardest to do away with the programs.
Customers create jobs. That’s why more than half of new businesses close within the first three years—-they failed to attract enough customers to make their business plan work—-assuming they had a viable plan to begin with. There simply are not enough customers in our communities for local businesses to remain viable. More government spending could shift this by truly creating jobs that go toward improving our infrastructure. Government spending would circulate many times, invigorating our communities, and the debt incurred could be offset by the tax revenues generated.
Our fractional reserve monetary system is designed to shift both income, assets and power to the extremely rich, The extremely rich do NOT create jobs—-it’s far more lucrative to game the markets than to create a bricks, mortar & payroll business.
vahmmon- might add that a lot of people jump into small business without enough capital to last long enough to develop a customer base. They go in with only enough money to last a couple months, and especially in smaller communities, it takes at least a year to start turning a profit. Seen way too many startups fail for that reason in rural communities where “big box” stores aren’t the serious competition we see in “urban” areas. But yes, if customers have nothing to spend, no base will develop.
If I could do it all over again…I would not buy a house in a deed restricted community where I can’t run a business.I would not tie up most of my wealth in that property.I would be ready to move to where there is work.I would do a better job of keeping up with friendships from the past, and keep possible employment options open there. And I should have bailed out of Florida while I was healthy.
