There IS a snack bar about 25 feet from the door of the lab I use. Funny how a 60 cent doughnut seems totally worth $1.50 sometimes.@the J.A.M. - isn’t that a reward for those who donate blood, rather than for anybody who merely takes a fasting blood test? In my local hospital, anyone who has blood drawn for whatever reason is given a ticket to the hospital canteen; you can order whatever you want there. But then I live in Europe, where medical care is free to any citizen. I’ve lived in the US, and I’ve lived here. I know which one works better.
I have my lab blood draws at a grocery store pharmacy, so last time I bought a banana and purchased a yogurt, and had brought one of my breakfast bars- sat in the car and ate those before driving home. I picked this location because of short drive and no wait. They do a good job and price is good-under $50 for a full chem panel (often less).And does anyone know how to get rid of that partial strikeout? I’ve also had it happen and wonder if others think I tried to erase some of my words…

For the lab, maybe. The blood bank I go to is in the hospital, and they give you a free breakfast afterward
