So you're saying this bag of cheez doodles should last two weeks? Uh-huh. If you eat one serving a day. But if you keep cheez doodles around that long, they get stale! Then you've got to throw them away! That's wasteful! Do you want me to throw away cheez doodles so that they pollute our water and clog landfills? So by eating cheez doodles, you're actually helping the environment. Yes! Yes! I'm an eco-warrior!

Hi sallymargaret, this just shows that wikipedia sometimes gets details right, but the big picture wrong. Cap’n Salty is a character I created exclusively for the kids’ webside poptropica.com, where “Big Nate Island” is one of the features. Because all the environments on poptropica are islands, I created a world for Nate which resembles an island off the coast of Maine. Consequently, there are some details about Big Nate Island that aren’t 100% consistent with details from the comic strip.
But I have at least MENTIONED Cap’n Salty in the strip. A couple summers ago, Nate ran into School Picture Guy at the beach; he was dressed up as a lobster to advertise a restaurant called Cap’n Salty’s.
