I’m sure those are Smurf feet under that mushroom house, and that “sauce” around it is a pool of blood. Not sure about the blue chunks though.

Wild mushroom pizza may be fashionable, but I’ve always said I didn’t trust it.

They should NEVER use the ones with door and windows; They’re likely to be highly contaminated with Smurfs.

And it looks like the kitchen didn’t even clean it.

Not sure whether links work here the same way they did on Comics.com but if they do   <>Maybe this will help explain it<>

I generally find Brevity funny although (like today) I sometimes need help understanding (never watched any smurfs-my kids were older by then). I had my mini pizza yesterday (pepperoni-not mushroom) but having turkey breast today.

If Smurfs are three apples high, that comes to about eight inches. While some fungus is big enough, none that I know have the classic mushroom shape. I would think that the square-cube law comes into effect here – the stem couldn’t support the weight of the head. Yeah, I know, “It is only a comic strip.”

I don’t get it either… and the “little blue things” look like pills to me — while the “smurf house” doesn’t look even a tad bit smurfish. Clue? Not here.

I see pills on, and to the northwest of, the mushroom house. Maybe I’m just hallucinating.

I can’t think of a better end to a Smurf, though it does ruin a perfectly good pizza!

That is perfectly sick to kill an innocent Smurf in its house on a pizza. Whoever did it is mean and sick individual!

As nearly as I can tell – the joke is that the cartoon characters – little blue Smurfs – live in houses made of mushrooms. Apparently, someone unknowingly picked a Smurf-house mushroom and put it on top of the pizza. When the mushroom house collapsed from the heat, the falling mushroom-house smashed the Smurf-owner as well. I personally loved the link which took you to a page of “Smurf” houses – but, just for the record – someone at Go Comics seems to really NOT like any posts which have links in them – so the posts with links often disappear after a while.

Wow. Thanks No. 6 and Estrelita. EdCole too, forgot to say earlier. I’m guessing some people use the link from their comics pages to post that they don’t understand, without reading the rest of the comments. I was coming in here to say some of what Estrelita said but now I don’t need to.Yes, the pizza cook used a Smurf house for a mushroom — though I’m not sure how it escaped the slicer. The page I linked to is pretty clearly labelled Smurf house, and the pictures look just like what’s on the pizza. If it disappears, oh well. Hopefully the day will be over and the comments will still explain.I didn’t have kids in the Smurf era either, or ever watch them, but the @&%$ things were underfoot everywhere.I only had a vague recollection of their houses, but EdCole’s funny comment was a great confirmation of my suspicion. What’s even funnier is people who come into a comics forum to tell others what they ought to like or find funny. If you hate Brevity, well….. good for you. I’m sure Garfield has been missing you while you waste ink here. Yeah yeah, no hate letters please. It’s OK to like Garfield. I’m only saying it’s easier than Brevity. Baby steps, baby steps.

OK, So gocomics.com didn’t recognize my old username and password, but it wouldn’t let me register because it said my email was in use. So, i requested a new password. Now it shows my actual name and not my username (konrad). What’s the deal?

Konrad— Good to see you again! From what I’ve been able to piece together, on June 1st GoComics attempted to transfer everyone from Comics.com.I joined a bit before that, and my username was fine but then I ended up with a duplicate comics page and double e-mails.Those who were transferred WITH the switch had to change passwords, and their favorites were already set up.They also got 2 months free Pro membership.Coming in AFTER the switch it somehow “thinks” you’re trying to use the same name and e-mail as another user — who is YOU. Writing to them sometimes straightens it out ==== but then again, they’re way behind on everything (like archives and site functionality) due to the massive job of absorbing comics.com.I see you did figure out the name problem cos it does display “Konrad” now. HTH

And thank you, Dry. Sorry, those who are sad for the poor Smurf but …. well…. remember…. it’s a Smurf!I’m afraid I just have Gary Larson/ Gahan Wilson sort of taste in comics.I think you’re safe if you go to a chain pizza place and not Gargamel’s (thanks Ather :) )
