I’ll be speaking at our town’s ceremony tomorrow. Fine line between remembering and glorifying. I’ll stick to remembering.

Okay. Let’s remember that a lot more than that were killed in 1 day on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. How small would those stars be? I’ll also remember that my grandfather wasn’t part of a volunteer army.

Way to inject your politics into what’s supposed to be a day honoring those who have given their lives.

Nice, but let’s not forget all our soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those who come home with memories none of us will ever be able to even begin to understand.

knightman – yeah, try “give peace a chance” on terrorists! “When bullies rise up, the rest of us must slap them back down, no matter what the cost.” – from “The Majestic” 2001

Peas and carrots… and corn, don’t forget corn, and cauliflower, and potatoes, and tomatoes, and green beans, and… But start with peas…Meanwhile – don’t forget the FOURTH verse of The Star Spangled Banner…Oh! thus be it e’er, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war’s desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
