    Quicksand, cemetery of Empires, Near-Eastern Vietnam, deadend mazes, down a deep cave… Any other analogies we’ve missed?

    Well there has been one group who has found victory there – the Republicans! They are in a win/win situation.

    Now that everyone has forgotten that they are ones responsible for this mess they can just sit back and critize Obama if he goes deeper into this mess, or (as has been done so many times in the past) claim that he is following a policy of appeasment, and betrayed the brave men who fought and died there, if he pulls out.

    The rest of us have to remember why Bush started this war and realize that unless we are willing do what it takes to occupy the country, and are willing to spend the time and billions of dollars to build a stable government, then we need to get out while we can.

    how about…. all the foreign troops leave, take all the Afghan women and send them to China. We’re out of Afghanistan, the Taliban die off, and the young men in China can concentrate on being good husbands and fathers rather than proving their manhood in some military adventure…..

    anyone remember 9/11? wasnt that where Mr Clinton sent a million dollar missile to a vacant tent? and didnt the Taliban fall in love with al Qaida there? and didnt they train and launch the strikes from there? I must’ve missed something…we “inherited Viet Nam from JFK/LBJ/ and RMN,then Ford “finished it with a whimper.So what’s new pussycat?
