^moron….and feminist beta male? I understand what you mean by it, but that is so idiotic. You completely misunderstand politics, society and virtually all aspects of science, humanism or even common sense. What I suspect from you Scott is that you would actually fit in really nicely with the Jihadist extreemists. You have all the right stuff. Completely ignorance of facts, irrational hatred, impotent rage, a desire to harm others and a wish to see the world end as soon as possible.

acd, there’s another thing scottfreitas completely misunderstands: Christianity. That’s been demonstrated on a number of occasions on these pages, but he hasn’t picked up on his ignorance yet.

I also find it interesting that all the while he is bemoaning his fictional “Demoncrats” for causing the Civil War, he is also agitating for a new civil war between America’s liberals and conservatives. How he misses his own hypocrisy is baffling.

Scott, why would I ever support Islam and sharia law? I personally believe that each religion is equally stupid, that is why no religion should ever outwiegh the other.

The lump under the rug is not big enough, it doesn’t show how awful the things under the rug are, and I suspect its not just “avoid harm to national security” but also “delay the brewing civil unrest”

sigh This site used to be fun when people would argue about the actual toon. Those days are gone….almost every single toon ends up being about hearing from the religious wackjob acting pissed off at women.

The war on terror is in theory a good thing. However, how can one fight a menace that will constantly resurface itself in millions of ways? Every time we destroy one terrorist group, another will surface as some nutjob becomes convinced that violence is the only answer. It’s like fighting a hydra: you just can’t win!

so when Obama jails the terrorists here , are they going to qualify for his immigration reforms as well? Next he will make them all US citizens.

“I’ll bite. What exactly are the abuses of the Bush policy? Was it the extracting of information that kept our enemy from another attack like 9/11?”

The ways of extracting the information, yes. It is dubious if another attack like 9/11 would even occur, or if the methods were necessary to obtain this information. What is not dubious is the damage they did to the US, both in image and as motivation for attacks against Americans and other westerners. Why do you think putting orange shirts on kidnapped westerners got in vogue?

“Was it the policy of putting enemy combatants in a POW camp to keep them off the field of battle?”

Had they been treated like regular PoWs, there would be no trouble. Yet Bush and co went to a lot of trouble to make sure they don’t have to abide by the conventions on POW treatment the US signed.

“It was Bushes toughing what Clinton let go that let our Nation Security do their job”

Harley, get freaking real. Clinton left plans and a team working on capturing Osama - and Bush ignored them. He got signals that the US might be attacked, and ignored those either (why do you think people make a presidential briefing).

He made a lot of noise about national security - later.

I like how bush gets credit for everything in our country that didn’t get blown up while he was in office. I assume you’ll afford obama the same?

I suggest the cartoonist’s point is that sweeping the abuses of the Bush years is not the way to avoid harm to national security. Nor, I might add, is to continue these abuses….
