Pay those who actually do the work what they are worth. Like, Wall Street CEO’s, nothing.

    The treasury?

I read earlier that many experts do not expect the unemployment rate to fall to the usual 4-5% until 2014. That is very sad.

The Lottery is the answer! Think about it: you’re spending money everytime you buy a ticket (stimulating the economy), and if and when you win, you get rewarded, plus Uncle Sam taxes the winnings so he gets his dues. I know a lot of people using the Lottery as their retirement plan. It’ll pay better than Social Security in a few more years.

The United States has the lowest effective tax rate (stated tax rate minus loopholes) of any industrialized nation, and that didn’t stop the economic collapse for a second. Try again.

Social security was great until you cons declared war on it. You want to privatize it and have some fat cat from wall street make money off of it and if he fails oh well it wasn’t his money to begin with. Think Regan when he lost to Gerald Ford when he wanted people to opt out of it and create their own accounts or more recently W. who tried to create an I.R.A. like structure. Rather than fixing it you guys want it to die a wicked death, ergo you want Americans to die a wicked death just to prove that you are right.

What type of Americans are you people? What happened to the notion of government by the people, for the people. of the people?

ah but remember for conservatives corporations ARE people, thus insert the word “corporations” for “people” and you have the true principle they believe in.

Bush gave a huge tax break for the richest few. All the good jobs went overseas!! Bush got his illegal war in Iraq. Instead of new millionaires, Bush added more billionaires in arms dealers, private armies and electrocution showers! Bush bailed out Wall Street. Now he’s on his way to becoming a billionaire without daddy’s money.

Obama puts Bush’s profligacy on the books. Teabaggers get rich blaming Obama!!! Only in America does a black man get blamed for white people’s spending!!!!!

How about public disclosure of the “Net Effective Tax Ratios” for various income brackets?

Never heard of it? That’s because the fat-cats (including those in Congress) don’t want you to!

It is simply the ratio of ALL taxes paid (including state & local sales/use tax, excise, tariffs, license fees, etc., etc.) to ALL income (from all sources, including exempt, deferred, sheltered, cap gains, cap appreciation, foreign investment, etc. etc.)

If you ever got to see those numbers - you’d realize exactly how REGRESSIVE US taxes actually are … and how outrageous the proposed Fat (oops, guess they call it “Flat”) tax would really be.

Okay, Posse. As soon as you restructure the Tax Code; the richies will have their money…elsewhere. Or we’d be living in the old Soviet Russia.
