Drink up! I remember what was in the Kool Aid.

I predict that the Tea-Party Protests will be just as well remembered by the people of this country as the last Republican astroturf…I mean grass-roots event, Justice Sunday.

Simon the Boaster. You have to have more in your platform than “The party of same-sex marriage” if you want to keep America’s respect. Other than that; what do Libs stand for?

Oh, I forgot embryonic stem-cell research and abortion on demand - that and same-sex marriage is your party’s triumvirate.

I’m not sure the the Dems stand for anything (and I left them ages ago), but it beats being the party of NO ideas and taking more money for the rich people who already have more than they can spend.

So long as the Reps continue to believe that Tax Cuts will cure everything, they will continue to be irrelevant.

Here is what Libs stand for:

Freedom of speech. Freedom of expression. Freedom of religion. Right to bear arms for military purposes. No government invasion of privacy. Right to due process. Cooperation for the betterment of all. Equal rights. Civil liberties. Equal opportunity. War only as a last resort. Clear air. Clean water. Clean food. Better planet.

Want me to go on? Because I can.

Oh, and if you will, can you tell me which of these you’re against?

Poor Puppy. It’s rough when you can’t think of any way to support your own party, so you’re reduced to attacking the civil liberties and equal rights positions of the opposing party.

I’m with daniel, plus good education.

daniel said a lot about what liberals want to accomplish. And motive said good education. I could add millions of jobs for the American people, some of which could be based on green technology. Also a biggie is health care reform so it is available to all in this country.

Cute. Considering all the cons blabber about the Obama Kool-Aid.

Who knows, Puppy? Maybe eventually the Republicans will embrace civil liberties and equal rights in general, and they you’ll have to hate them, too!

Small Government. Minimum government intrusion in your life. Fiscal responsibility (Spending & taxing). Avoidance of foreign intervention? Maybe that’s why they’re having an identity problem.

NoFear, again, that is total and utter hogwash. You pick some bogeyman who wants to wipe out all religion so you can be a victim. Liberal Christians do not do these things. However, we don’t see ourselves as the only option because we are not God and can’t tell if perhaps God has other roads for his children. I do not believe school sponsored prayer is appropriate. I do not believe public buildings should display Christian symbols to the neglect of others. I do believe gay marriage is fine (and if it’s only religious objections, they have no place in the governmental decision making process). I do not like abortion but am completely convinced that making it illegal will not reduce the number of abortions – liberals actually try to reduce the number, not merely punish those frightened women who undergo it. Since you clearly have no idea what liberal believe, maybe you should ask – and listen.

I didn’t think I had to explain what a human is to one so steeped in “scientific research” and human anatomy, Anthony. Mysterious sock-puppet, google “homosexual agenda san francisco” and I’m sure something will come up. Need anymore help?

Speaking as as STRAIGHT San Franciscan, I think I can tell you better than Google what “homosexual agenda san francisco” means. It means: Homosexuals should not be forced out of their jobs for being homosexuals; homosexuals should not be forced out of their homes for being homosexuals; homosexuals should not be beaten up or killed for being homosexuals; homosexuals should be afforded the same privileges of marriage, adoption, and Public Display of Affection as heterosexuals. Contrary to the stereotype, gays are NOT the majority in San Francisco, they’re merely ACCEPTED. They are doctors and lawyers and politicians and teachers, as well as plumbers, construction workers, garbage men, police officers, firefighters, and anything else you might imagine. And if some poor kid from Kansas who has been told all his life by his church, his schools, even his FAMILY that he’s “sicK” or “evil” comes to San Francisco and discovers that he no longer needs to HIDE who he is, or feel ASHAMED or filled with self-loathing, why NOT get together with similar people and have a parade once a year? When the Italian Americans have a parade on Columbus Day, and the Irish Americans have a parade on St. Patrick’s Day, and the Chinese Americans have a parade on Lunar New Year, do THEY have their celebrations broadcast over Fox News as “flaunting themselves”, in an attempt to scare “real Americans” into fearing some sort of “Italian/Irish/Chinese agenda”?

Straights enjoy watching the Gay Day Parade, simply because the sense of FREEDOM is infectious. Straights even MARCH in the parade, with such organizations as PFLAG. So why do YOU hate our freedoms?

You’d never do it in a million years, but you should watch “Milk.” To paraphrase from the movie, it’s not an “agenda”; it’s their LIVES they’re fighting for.

Fritzoid, a really excellent post. Another group of people that are “afraid to come out of the broom closet” are those that believe in earth centered religions, like Wiccans that have the pentacle as a symbol of the cycle of life. They are concerned that they will be identified as “devil worshipers, and satanic evil cult members.” I personnaly am a UU pantheist and have not had a problem with people in the community, but I’m elderly and retired and people just are not threatened by my views. Maybe because I’m not strident about it and try to live by the Golden Rule.

The Golden Rule is truly a wise behavior model, although of course it was NOT original to Jesus (no matter what others might try to convince you).

I believe the Wiccans have their OWN motto which serves just as well, though: “An it harm no one, do as thou wilt.”

(Before you object to my grammar, know that in this context, “an” is not a typo or a contraction; it’s an archaic conjunction meaning “if” or “as long as”.)
