I have yet to get any examples of “lies” from anyone that claims so, other than the “Bridge to Nowhere” (Which is easily defended)

Oh really? How about the numerous stories of why Public Safety Director Monaghan was fired? The claim that Palin didn’t request any earmarks as governor? Her saying she welcomed the Troopergate investigation and would cooperate fully? And the original whopper from McCain, which was that he was going to conduct an honorable campaign?

Seriously, two minutes with Google will turn up all the examples you could (not) want. It’s getting so bad that even Republicans (Chuck Hegel, for example) are calling McCain out for the way his campaign is being built on a framework of lies.

Don’t forget Rove regarding McCain’s campaign ads,-‘(mumble, mumble, hedge), not 100% truthful.’ How egregious does it have to be before even Rove admits it’s lying?

“I have yet to get any examples of “lies” from anyone that claims so, other than the “Bridge to Nowhere”

Ok Bob. Sorry to here that YOU are lying now. You asked and were given examples in another comments threads and now choose to pretend they do not exist.

Here listen to Karl rove; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNdtZGqZA2Y

How about McCain versus McCain? http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/09/19/stephen-colbert-gives-john-mccain-the-mccain-treatment/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPyKpcivQYQ

    Heres a short list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH0xzsogzAk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLswpZtca48

What do you want? The things that are not lies? Sarah Palin talking in tongues? dodging subpoenas or telling us the Iraq war is a mission from our christian God?

Come on Bob… Stop it just stop it!!!! You know what your doing! Your committing the worst form of deception! Your lying to yourself!

Would you like to watch them defend themselves? With more lies?

    http://clan427forums.proboards46.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=487

Or would you simply care to hear how well they did this week on simply speaking words from their mouths? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNGa6Ujyaf4 Here is our world; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/theweaselking/Thirdmain/strongobama.jpg Look, nobody trusts them anymore, it’s too late, they’ve lied too many time for people to believe them… Please, man up and deal with it.

“Ok Bob. Sorry to here that YOU are lying now. You asked and were given examples in another comments threads and now choose to pretend they do not exist.”

No, in the ONE comic that I asked this question you gave me a bunch of links regarding the bridge to nowhere. I disproved your statements and then you never responded.

“How about McCain versus McCain? ”

Don’t give me an entertainers (Colbert) view on anything political. That is not valid, unless you have an actual reporter make those claims (and be able to back them up) don’t bother. That video shows McCain talking about the situation in Haiti compared to his comments on Iraq. THAT IS NOT SHOWING HIM LYING. All that is doing is juxtaposing his views on Haiti vs. his view on Iraq. Try again.

    “Heres a short list:”

You give me a link to a video saying that Obama is doing the same thing as McCain for evidence? Ok……you’ve just incriminated your own candidate.

“What do you want? The things that are not lies? Sarah Palin talking in tongues? dodging subpoenas or telling us the Iraq war is a mission from our christian God?”

She’s done none of those things and it’s been proven over and over again. I’ve also noticed no links to these claims.

“Come on Bob… Stop it just stop it!!!! You know what your doing! Your committing the worst form of deception! Your lying to yourself!”

That would be the other way around my friend. You have consistently offered nothing to validate your claims and when you have the slightest bit of evidence it always turns out that Obama is doing the exact same thing. Why does this make Obama better than McCain?

The final video you showed me has McCain repeating his line:

“The fundamentals of our economy are strong”

How is that a proof of lying? Futhermore that is a video of Rachael Maddow taking things out of context and giving her own opinion which hardly even goes along with what McCain was even saying.

If I have to give you videos of people like Hannity and Limbaugh to show Obama doing stupid things that would be the exact equivalent of what you’re doing with their Liberal counterpart Maddow. What’s next Olbermann and Matthews?

    Please….

Way to completely ignore the things you can’t aruge about. How about Rove admitting the ads weren’t truthful? Or are you going to claim he’s a liberal now, too?

“Way to completely ignore the things you can’t aruge about. How about Rove admitting the ads weren’t truthful? Or are you going to claim he’s a liberal now, too?”

I didn’t ignore you I commented to Tindog first because of the limited time I had to write and since I am familiar with him. Rove was talking about the recent McCain ads not being “100% true” not his entire campaign. Stop trying to distort what was said.

I’ll go to your statements right now:

“How about the numerous stories of why Public Safety Director Monaghan was fired?”

The only people telling numerous stories on why Monaghan was fired are the Democrats. Palin has consistently stated why she fired him. So there’s no lying involved there.

“The claim that Palin didn’t request any earmarks as governor?”

That claim was made by McCain in the midst of a verbal assault by the harpies on the view while he was talking about how she reformed Alaskan government. He was wrong…he didn’t lie and his comments about her cutting wasteful spending in Alaska are very true. Being wrong about something doesn’t mean you’ve lied.

Some examples of what Palin’s earmarks were for:

$500,000 to build a youth center $1.9 million to build a transportation hub $900,000 for sewer system repairs (Oh the horror! What wasteful spending!)

“Her saying she welcomed the Troopergate investigation and would cooperate fully?”

Are you saying that she hasn’t? Prove your empty claim on that one.

“And the original whopper from McCain, which was that he was going to conduct an honorable campaign?”

Oh please don’t even give me that tripe. Obama said the same exact thing and is being just as dishonorable as McCain is, in fact moreso:

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/barone/2008/9/19/obamas-campaign-is-more-negative-than-mccains.html?s_cid=rss:barone:obamas-campaign-is-more-negative-than-mccains

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09/17/obamaairsmorenegativeads_s.html

He also lied about taking public financing then didn’t even after he proposed a bill in the Senate to reform it. THAT is far worse than a silly bridge to nowhere or requesting earmarks. That shows a complete lack of integrity.

If you’re going to accuse McCain of lying then you better make bleeep sure Obama hasn’t lied about the same things or about worse things.

Karl Rove has also talked many times about how Obama is also running negative untrue campaigns…..you even agreed with me on this in a different comic!

That link works just fine for me by the way. Google the words: “Obama more negative than McCain” and look at all the CREDIBLE sources saying so not crazy left wing blogs like you link to me.

And you’re definitely going to have to say more if you’re going to prove your false claims, which I noticed you didn’t defend.

Palin ‘welcomed’ the investigation, now she won’t cooperate. Hubby is refusing to obey a subpoena. A SUBPOENA ISN’T OPTIONAL!!! A subpoena means you show up and sit your a// down and if you want to take the 5th at that point, fine. She’s had the AG she appointed tell state employees to break the law by ignoring subpoenas. Any of this sounding familiar? Anyone else you know acting like they’re above the law? Alaska state law can punish ignoring a subpoena with a $500 fine and up to 6 months in jail, these people are all breaking the law and they should all spend a day or three in the big house so they have time to think about it. And if they had nothing to hide, why are they hiding? She keeps saying that she told Congress ‘thanks, but no thanks’ on the bridge to nowhere, but the requirement that the money be spent on that particular bridge was removed before she took office, she wasn’t in a position to tell Congress anything. And she still took the money. That doesn’t sound like ‘No thanks’ to me. She said she’d visited troops in Iraq, she was in Kuwait, never in Iraq. Probably not that different from Hillary saying she’d been under fire in Bosnia, but that doesn’t excuse it. The reflexive lying is not new to her, this from the Anchorage Daily News on her firing of city officials in Wasilla: Reached at her home … Palin said she planned to meet with Stambaugh and Emmons this afternoon. She also disputed whether they had actually been fired. ”There’s been no meeting, no actual terminations,” she said. Stambaugh’s response was to read part of the letter given to him. ”Although I appreciate your service as police chief, I’ve decided it’s time for a change. I do not feel I have your full support in my efforts to govern the city of Wasilla. Therefore I intend to terminate your employment… . ” ”If that’s not a letter of termination, I don’t know what is,” he said. Unless you’re going to split hairs and say that she had indicated her intention, but hadn’t pulled the trigger yet. More from ADN PALIN: “I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence. That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart.

THE FACTS: Palin implies that construction has begun on a major natural gas pipeline from the top of Alaska into Canada. That is not correct.

In fact, no building has begun and actual construction is years away, if it ever happens. This summer the Alaska Legislature, at Palin’s request, passed a bill under which the state will issue a “license” to a Canadian energy company, TransCanada Corp., and pay it up to $500 million as an incentive to someday build this enormous project, which Alaska politicians have long sought with little success. The license is not a construction contract, and federal energy regulators have not yet approved the project.

Palin also puts the price tag for the project at $40 billion, an exaggeration. This is roughly $10 billion more than most cost estimates industry players and consultants have made to date. Well, if $30 B is ‘almost $40B’ and ‘we began’ means ‘we don’t even have federal approval yet, but we’ve started planning’, then okay that one’s just an exaggeration. She’s said several times that Alaska produces 20% of US energy. It’s 3% of US energy and less than 16% of US oil & gas. This is getting really boring

You remember that I asked what her “lies” were right? So far none of you have given me any with the minor exception of visiting Iraq. If she visited troops that CAME from Iraq in Kuwait that’s really not something that should call her a liar. But then again, if she said the sky was blue and when you look up that day and it’s cloudy and grey you would probably call her a liar anyway.

“Hubby is refusing to obey a subpoena”

She is not her husband and he is not running for any elected office so what does this have to do with lying? You’re trying to divert the conversation on whether she is lying or not. It’s not going to work with me. If you want to get into the whole “but it’s her husband thing” just know that you will forever be unable to credibly critize someone from saying anything against Michelle Obama.

“but the requirement that the money be spent on that particular bridge was removed before she took office”

Right it wasn’t REQUIRED that Alaska spend the money on the bridge until she was in office. When she went into office she said “THANKS BUT NO THANKS” and didn’t take ANY money. The funding for that bridge was entirely killed by the “Kirk Amendment” so you’re wrong about her “still taking the money” Again, that is not an example of lying.

“Unless you’re going to split hairs and say that she had indicated her intention, but hadn’t pulled the trigger yet.”

That’s not “splitting hairs” on anything that’s pretty obvious what she was trying to do and it’s also not an example of lying. Wrong again.

“THE FACTS: Palin implies that construction has begun on a major natural gas pipeline from the top of Alaska into Canada. That is not correct.”

Why don’t you actually read her quote. Specifically the line “That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened” That is not saying that the pipeline has been started. That obviously refers to the fact that she’s approved it’s creation. Again, NO LIES.

“Palin also puts the price tag for the project at $40 billion, an exaggeration”

Show me a contractor that ever charges the estimate and I would like you to give me their phone number to finish my house rehab that’s costing me 5x more than the estimate was. Again, not a lie!

“It’s 3% of US energy and less than 16% of US oil & gas”

Obviously when she said 20% of US energy supply she was meaning oil. Which at 16% isn’t far off from 20% that she claimed. You’d be happy to know that there are many estimations on the percentage of what Alaska is producing in terms of oil. Several pointing at the 16%-20% numbers. Again, not a lie since it is impossible to get an actual 100% correct estimation on something like that.

    “This is getting really boring”

Indeed, especially when you list things that aren’t even lies she has told such as her husband refusing the subpoena or teriminating employees.
