In a sane environment, this wouldn’t matter. But let us not forget how much flack Edwards took for his haircut, and Hillary for her pantsuits. In Edwards’ case you might make a case for the protector of the little guy buying expensive haircuts, but in that case when someone explicitly markets herself as being from the “real small-town America” and uses clothes from Nieman Marcus, she should be called out for it as well.
