Sid: I'm all ears, Bernie. Wow me. Bernie: I'm creating a celebrity GPS voice App called aList. There are already some celeb voices for GPS out there, but they're pretty downscale - Kit the car cartoon characters, novelty stuff... aList will be strictly high value brands - your Brad Pitts, your Depps, your Meryls and Dustins and Barbras. You know these people? Sid: Know them? I play with them, sleep with them! Our kids sell drugs to each other! Bernie: Really.

Garry was in Iraq two weeks ago (per fellow cartoonist Stephan Pastis’ photo); IIRC he uses a Sunday comic to pay tribute to the soldiers in print.

I spent six years in the military, so I believe I have a right to say this:
“Susan001”, give it a rest. Our service men and women are quite adequately honored throughout the year by the vast majority of the American people, encompassing every identifiable group in our country. It’s neither necessary or even desirable to put some burp on everything, even on Veteran’s Day.

Sorry, Bernie, but I really don’t think that’s going to make you a billion dollars. Anyway, it’s been done and is being done.

Susan001:
Instead of criticizing, why can’t you say something nice about the veterans instead?
This is an open forum so what’s stopping you? I don’t believe anyone will flag your comments.

ahem That’s KITT the car. (Which I’m very proud to own the GPS of, thank you very much)

I’m not seeing a billion dollars in this idea.

Can I get Schwarzkopf? When I drive across a bridge, he could suggest I hustle.

Susan, if you don’t have anything nice to say, silence IS an option. And you can be ticked in one hand and bleep in the other, see what it gets you.
Honoring vets is not offensive; being a B is….

Hey, relax, people! As I mentioned in a previous comment, Veteran’s Day is observed in the civilian world - in the Army, it was just another day for us. If you want to honor or thank veterans, honor the dead ones - the live ones, like me, don’t really need it (I was young and dumb enough to voluntarily enlist for three years, instead of being drafted).

Susan001: you haven’t been paying attention much; Trudeau honors US soldiers quite often, probably more often than any other comic strip.
