So far the only thing I’ve seen from Bush is how relieved he is to be out. But change “Laura” to “Rosalynn” and “Bush” to “Carter”, and “No” to “Suck up to Middle East enemies” and that would work for me.

pschearer, you don’t think big oilman Bush didnt suck up to Middle East enemies? You don’t think he bent over backwards to please the Saudis? Most of the 9-11 terrorists were Saudis and it was paid for with Saudi money. The Bush adminstration was trying to sell nuclear technology to the UAE. We may not be at war with these guys, but they’re not our friends. How about an invasion of a country, which wasnt exactly peaceful was not a threat to us, simply to increase Middle Eastern (and Bush) oil profits. – Yeah, I know. Carter screwed up the hostage rescue. So what, thats military history. How can it be considered sucking up to our enemies? Jimmy Carter is a good man, he deserves better than we give him. At least he never did anything out right illegal or immoral as president.

Carter is a good man if you overlook his anti-semitism. Not all of us are willing to do so.

Wow! Anti-semitism? I have never heard that one. I hope you take the time to check this later McGehee, I want to know more about this. Carter was the first president I ever voted for and I’ve always had a soft spot for the guy. To hear a charge like this is a shock.

I just spent some time on Wikipedia. I think I understand now what you mean. From what I read he doesn’t look exactly anti-semitic, more anti-Israeli policies in the occupied territories. I am sure that there is probably little difference in the two to Jews. It’s a very complicated, thorny issue. I would hope that no one would consider me anti-Semitic if I felt that the political policies of the Israeli state were less than ideal. Like I said, I hope you take the time to explain. I’m curious and want to know more.

Carter is not anti-semetic, that is a trumped up charge. He just doesn’t bow down to certain lobby groups the way some other Presidents do. Carter has a more realistic take on middle East politics than most.

And Carter has done great work since he was President, unlike so many who do nothing or just seek to make easy bucks.
