I remember being able to ask my mother for an album, and not having to worry about what “version” she picked up.

Back in the 70’s you could hear several four letter words on FM radio in rock songs that the cool stations never bothered to bleep!“…and I don’t want to get caught up in that, funky xxxx going down in the city.” “Aww who the xxxx are you…”

I remember when in grade school The Beetles were forbidden! And this was before their long-hair psychedelic era! Maybe I’m just too old but bleeping Rap music isn’t music. It’s a bunch of bleeping bleeps who can’t sing swearing in time to a bleeping drum machine beat.

Hehehe, reminds me of the family guy episode where they sing about the f-ing fcc. Not sure if I can post some of the lyrics here….should probably censor myself.“Peter: They will clean up all your talking in a manner such as thisBrian: They will make you take a tinkle when you want to take a piss!Stewie: And they’ll make you call fellatio a trouser-friendly kissPeter, Brian, & Stewie: It’s the plain situation! There’s no negiotiation!Peter: With the fellows at the freakin FCC!”

“When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know, the end result is tyranny and oppression no matter how holy the motives.”- Robert A. Heinlein

Yes, I believe that governemnt has no business in censorship. Parents should be the censor, not some politician whose only real concern is counting votes, not protecting anyone. Personally, I don’t care for the Gangsta Rap stuff, but there is a market for it and a lot of people disagree with me, so be it.
