Peter: What's with the bow and arrow?
Jason: Mom wanted me to take up a sport, so I'm taking up archery. Bull's eye!
Peter: I see you're also taking up wrestling.
Jason: Paige, leggo! OW!
In the years I’ve read this strip, I often wondered why Jason always makes fun of his older sister knowing he’s going get the snot beat out of him (by her) for doing it?
Josh1360, the answer to your question is “just because he can.” Speaking as the oldest of four brothers, I can confirm that it’s just what siblings do; my brothers and I would regularly push one another’s buttons just because we knew we could – and of course, we ended up beating the heck out of one other over it all the time, but we were over the whole thing maybe 20 minutes later (not that it still didn’t drive our mother crazy, mind you!) :)
This also reminds me of a “Calvin/Hobbes” comic where Calvin shoots a [suction-cupped] arrow at Susie (misses, though). Susie asks if it’s his. Calvin replies, “No. What is it?” Next panel later, Calvin’s pinned to the house by the arrow.
i’ve always liked the way the fox siblings interact. they gang up on one another and switch allegiances and play pranks just like real siblings do. and it’s endlessly comical.

He’s much better at the archery than the wrestling …

Older sisters are a whole lot better at boxing, too.

I can hear mothers all over the world, “You’ll put someone’s eye out with that if you’re not careful!”

Now Jason should have a “Bleeker” ankle monitor.

I’ve gotten along well with my sisters & brother…since we grew up & all moved to different States.

Someday Paige will be in ring, covered with mud, wrestling another girl, and thinking, “Jason, this is all your fault.”
mrprongs almost 15 years ago
Of course, 611Kwel. He’ll be the promoter, owner, and her agent. Also, ignoring her as he counts his money.

Here’s something perfect for accurate but dimunitive archers such as Jason:

That’s not a Bull’s eye, that’s a cow’s Nose. It doesn’t have a ring in it.
