Twenty-five years later, their son Calvin Jr. is going to come up to them and say the same thing … and they’re going to look at each other … and bust up laughing.

So true, rayannina. Those two are made for each other; Calvin just won’t admit it yet.

Thankfully the feeling isn’t mutual, else Calvin and Hobbes’ club G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy girlS) would be countered by Susie’s club G.L.O.B.S. (Get Lost Onery BoyS).

Ladywolf17: I hate to be grumpy or rude, but while your comments re the strip are interesting, your continued personal digressions are distracting. What if we all made off-subject comments, e.g., “I have to get ready for work,” “I have to go clean the house,” etc.? The forum would become a chore to read! It’s not about us; it’s about Calvin.

Bill Watterson has established repeatedly that Calvin and Susie’s relationship is akin to that of most young boys who have feelings for a girl, but believe that girls in general are something to be avoided, and therefore express it via annoying said girl. I still love this specific strip, because Watterson leaves what disgusting thing Calvin has to the readers’ imagination.

Florchi and nlnap19 - with all due respect, please don’t bring up the past. People are entitled to and have made friends here (take Big Top for example). There is nothing wrong with that as long as it’s within reason.

TapiocaHead, the model-airplane thread was over 2009/06/07, so it couldn’t be glue (remember, his hands were functioning nicely yesterday when he surprised Hobbes with the cattle-prod)–though it could be the cattle-prod from yesterday.

Awesome, I am so curious about what he’s got in his hands (I need to know) that I’m going to be thinking about it all day, do girls have no curiosity!…

Ah I had a girl like that when I was wee bit of a lad no higher than a grasshoppers knee, she was skinny, redheaded and as cute as a button, she went to a different upper school than everyone else because her parents moved so we lost touch, I saw her once again many years later and she was still cute ^_^ Little things can change the world.

I would tend to agree with green_engineer concering Florchi and nlnap19, many people here make personal comments sometimes off topic, peoples continued annoyance with just Ladywolf for this shows that they have developed a personal dislike, and insisting on making posts about it is the same if not worse than what they are accusing Ladywolf of, because their personal off topic comments are directed at other people.

If it bothers you that much then just read as far as their names and then skip to the next poster, very simple and a lot more mature than sniping at people.

Well that’s my personal sniping done for the day, time for me to go back to being mature again lol

I think that Calvin is doing this as part of a larger plan. He figures Susie will not look in his hands, so therefore he gets her to … (run away? miss seeing something she will kick herself for later? ) Then he springs the trap. And she flattens him. It’s shameless how they flirt

good morning! how about this one.

Calvin: Hey Susie! guess what I have in my hands. Susie: It better be something so totallly gross or your wasting my time. Calvin: oh it………….. Before Calvin can finish his sentence Susie quickly plants a big wet one on Calvin and walks away smiling and laughing, as our stunned hero just stands there with a blank expression on his face.

(Well excuse me people for having an active life style maybe I should complain when you go off topic).

And stop bringing up my past, I do not dwell on it anymore. PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL OF YOU. SEE YOU LATER.

A note to some of you: Do you remember that comic the other day that had Calvin looking at his reflection in the puddle I do. ladywolf is at a turning point in her life. She is growing up into a young woman and will soon leave her teenage years behind. Some of you hate it when she goes off topic. That is understandable, as I hate typing this. If my daughter says something like (got to get back to my party see you later) couldn’t you just say something like (ok see you later ladywolf have fun). I mean come on people aren’t we supposed to be sophisticated mature adults here. Rest assured she is working hard to better herself at this online interactive thing. All I ask is just a little patience from all of you. You all are great people to be around and I enjoy each and everyone of you. now lets all get back to enjoying Calvin and Hobbes.

@wolfbyte, I agree with you. Unfortunately, not everyone is as mature as their birthyear would indicate. Those who are can cut a little slack for the youth who sometimes are a bit indiscrete. But if they never tried, they would never learn better, and it’s the responsibility of every adult to help others learn how to be more mature, at least a little.

At least Calvin has an excuse for acting like a little boy. And for having Suzie guess what sort of slimy, gross thing he might be holding–all the funnier since we don’t know, and have to imagine something probably ten times worse than if we did know….

whether the “wolfs” are two people or not, i don’t see any reason they should not be on this site, commenting. just like the people who rant about conspiracies, or other topics not directly related to the strips themselves, you can consider the source and skip the line if you recognize the name. once or twice should be soon enough for most folks to decide if it’s worth their time to read. the angst is totally unnecessary.
