Linda Dean, first of all , a belated welcome to the venerable CD gang.second, my heart goes out to you for the loss of King George.I am now with my 5th basset (I only opt for one at a time) and as a veteran Basset buddy, I underline King George’s exceptional longevity. None of my little guys got past the age of ten and the anguish I experienced at the loss of each and every one of those 4 was extreme and devastating. The loss of a buddy who has been with you that long must be the worst feeling in the world. There’s just something about that breed, it’s hard to put in words.I suppose their goofy, lovable nature has a lot to do with it. they seem to instantly worm their way into your heart and when they’re gone, it’s as if part of your heart has been torn away.but you know that. I still think about my Susie, who I met when she was a a little puppy , and who loved everybody she ever met and who, as an old, gray-faced senior citizen with aches and pains finally left me in 2003.I wish I could do something for you but only the passage of time will patch up , but never heal your loss.
@Linda DeanSo sorry for your loss. It is so tough losing a pet as they provide such unconditional love. I hope that you hang on to all the happier memories that he provided over his long life. Long live the King in your heart.
No gerbils don’t fetch, but they do live in the walls for a long time. My sister’s kids had one that got loose long ago. Found him about a year later fat and happy..Good morning kids. Happy Saturday to ya all.
@Linda I’m so terribly sorry to hear about King George. My heart aches for you. I know there are no words to say to ease your pain. Just know you are in my thoughts dear.
Sorry to hear about Spotty. I hope it’s not bad. My Steel had mass cell cancer. All we could do was try to keep it at bay. With the medicine regiment, he made another 7 years. My thoughts and best wishes go out to you and Spotty.
I very much enjoy my birds, and the wonderful noise they make in my home. They do a wonderful job of taking the edge off of my loneliness.Thing is, I can’t take my canary for a walk on the beach.I miss my boy.
@Linda: I’m so very sorry for your loss. I often think back with fond memories of all my departed friends. Boots, Wendy, Gretchen, Jenny-fur 1 and 2, Tilly, Max, Toshie, and my beloved Tina the Doxie. They were waiting at the end of the Rainbow Bridge to Welcome King George as they all do with new arrivals.
@ Linda, I know so well the pain at loss of a pet (Cuddles was More than a pet to me as she was with me 23 years) and@Happy, I love birds large enough to keep wings trimmed (so they CAN go most places with me) and if my man really does not want my company, I’ll get another BIRD.
Good late afternoon Fellow Baby, cleo and sugie, and all the pet owners gathered here.
icky, I too, am sorry about Spot, but perhaps they can do something to delay the disease. Our last dog, Charlie Girl, was 12 when we lost her. She had bone cancer, and the vet said they could remove her leg, but he was blunt. He asked us if we really wanted to do that to her, because it would only delay the outcome, not cure it. We had her about another month after that. She passed in our living room with us. A vet long before this wonderful Vet we have now, said our Teddy had cancer, he was 2, had a growth on his neck. WE got a second opinion. Turns out the growth was a cyst that went away on its own. We lost Teddy at the ripe old age of 17.
I made $64.00 today.Add that to what my neighbor bought, middle of the week,$199.00 for this week.Better than last weekend. Even if it took two days to do it.I doubt of next weekend will be as good.

Good morning to the citizens of Dog that have survived the form filling stage to allow a pet into your home.

Well, gerbil caught the ball, which is a start. Now when he regains his senses, maybe he’ll bring it back to you.

Please accept my condolences. Tina had the same terrible disease. We must do all we can to support research on a cure.

I don’t think the hamster was hit by the ball. He looks exhausted from trying to fetch it.
