The cell phone I could live without. But I hope I’m allowed an iPad to keep up with what’s going on in the comics.

Good Morning, cleo, sugar, Fellow Baby & the rest of the CD gang!

    Good morning, CDers!!

I’m going to try to post the pictures that didn’t show up yesterday. I think it should be ok now, since I paid the ransom to Photobucket! Please let me know if you see them. Thanks.

(note: GROG! : I had plenty of actual storage left…it was the bandwidth usage limit that was all used up. Now, I have more storage than I’ll ever need in my lifetime and unlimited bandwidth, so I should be “good to go!”

I like no cell policies; especially in restaurants and theaters.

Maybe cell phones should be allowed at funerals though. After all, a call could come from inside the casket with a frantic plea to be let out.

StelBel, when I first moved into the Houston area, I had a lot of pictures to post of my surroundings etc and provided link to friends here and elsewhere. But I haven’t done anything new since buying my car last year. I visit the site once every few months now, whereas it used to be nearly daily as I followed other posters as well. But not lately.

I wandered into a shop that sold “jewelry” for piercings and gauges for ears. Some are as large as a salad plate! Boy when these kids are 80 and in a nursing home with their ears drooping over the top of their drool bibs, maybe, just maybe they will think “what the heck was I thinking” Maybe not, all the other people will have the same problem, maybe they can compare.

    Hi, Shika.

In spite of the fact that there’s a Cagney movie on TCM, I’m getting ready to turn in. Too bad. Looks like a good one called What Price Glory. Initially it was supposed to be a musical.

This is one day I care NOT to relive. Heard a bang out on our road, stopped, and went to see what happened, and there was our neighbor’s little dog laying by the side of the road. Some SOB hit it and didn’t stop. No one was home, both working, how he got out we have no idea.

Brewster wouldn’t let me near him, understanding, he was confused, hurt, shocked. Our neighbor on the other side of their house was in her pool, she heard the sound too. Once you hear it after all these years, you never forget, but it sounded like someone hit a curb or something, it was LOUD Never would have believed it was a little black terrior. Paula was in her bathing suit with a wet towel, thank goodness for the wet towel. She threw it over him, and we got him, he started to shock we talked calmly to him, rubbed his nose, chest, and said stay with us little dude. He came out of it, we put him in our pet taxi, and set him in the shade on their back porch, then contacted Christopher, Brewster’s Daddy, first because we knew where he was working, he got ahold of his mom, who is a caregiver.

How Brewster got out of the house, no one knows. No windows or doors were opened. My son checked, our neighbor checked, my husband checked. Christopher’s friend who came with him went inside the house and saw nothing either.

He seemed okay, he was alert and drank a bit of water, we put him in our pet taxi and between 4 of us, started calling vets. The one vet that did call back said to take him to the animal hospital. Once his mom got home, about a half hour they left immediately for the Animal Hospital. I hope everything is okay, They left about 6:45. They just got home at 10 pm. They were very quiet. I was going to go over, but thought best not to. Not now, because I don’t know what is happening. I know they didn’t have our pet taxi so I am hoping Brewster is just over there overnight for observation, I don’t care about the pet taxi, I can get another one. I just want Brewster to be okay!

I feel so bad for Christopher,(he’s 17) he was crying so hard.Poor Christopher, he said to me, “I can see not stopping for a rabbit, but not stopping for a dog, someone’s pet? How would they like it if was their pet”? I hugged him and told him it would be okay, I hate saying that when I don’t know, but it seems to be the right thing to say, you know? I hope it is okay.

We did learn that there is one screen Brewster can figure out how to open, but it wasn’t open. So we just don’t know how the heck he got out there!

We live in what used to be a quiet neighborhood. The speed limit is 35 US speed. Now they drive up and down here like maniacs, and the police are no where around to stop the speeders. I’ve lived here, as well as about 5 other neighbors, since 1978. We have had front yard hedges torn out, curbs hit hard, our stone wall knocked out, telephone poles ripped out, animals hit. That sound, after the first time you hear it, stays with you, as soon as you hear it, you know something else has happened. As loud and hard as that was, I thought they hit the curb, never in my life did I dream it would be a tiny little black terrier. .

I feel for you Dry. Sometimes I wonder why some people just don’t seem to be wired for kindness and consideration. I feel fortunate (knock on wood) that I have never hit a dog with my car. I would be devastated if I did.
