Haven’t been to a baseball game in years. This one makes me want to go to one and have a hot dog and (of course) a beer or three.

Dinner tonight is angel hair pasta. The sauce is clarified butter with minced sweet pepper (two kinds) and onion and smoked baby clams. Oregano, sweet basil and black pepper.Parmesan on top.Perched on top of that is a filet of steamed fish.A small loaf of garlic bread, broiled, on the side.Since I chose to be sober, my beverage is iced herbal tea.MMMmmm… : )

What kind of fish, Happy?

I just ate, but I think I’m hungry again.

I smoked a seasoned beef brisket tonight. It goes into the oven for abbot 3-4 hours tomorrow. Hopefully, the result is a reasonable facsimile of a Montreal style smoked meat. I brined it for 2 days and let it marinate in spices for 8. I hope it will be worth the wait. If it is, I may get an assembly line going.

StelBel, I think maybe you should magnify that photo. The pug’s wearing a Giants cap. And so he should, given it’s coming from Happy.

And I think that mutt should be peeing into that shoe, but that’s just my opinion.

Gee Happy, I am having a grilled Chicken Sub from Subway! I love them, but your dinner sounds SO GOOD!

Fellow Baby, your brisket sounds like what I call a London Broil.

Far from it, Fellow Baby. iIt would be similar to New York’s pastrami sandwich, but way, way better in my opinion. We have a chain of Jason’s Delis down here and none of them are as good as Montreal’s worst delis.

I probably should have mentioned that once smoked , you actually steam it, covered in aluminum foil.
