@Oldlego - it makes sense. Usually the companies that run Tu’s are short on money, so their aircraft are older and less maintained. That said though… accidents aren’t THAT much more frequent, at least if we can trust Wikipedia with the stats. The Tu 154 has had 63 serious incidents, 36 hull losses for approximately 1000 produced, the Boeing 737 has 295 (144 hull losses) for around 6000.
Mind you, I personally would prefer the Boeing anyway.
