I don’t think anyone in their right mind could see the Reagan administration as “positive” … or, in fact, anything but a complete disaster.
Well, unless you compare it to the reign of Bush II. Gotta hand it to GW … if nothing else, he has the distinction of making every other president – no matter how inept, dangerous, out of touch, or selfishly spiteful to average Americans (and yeah, all of that describes Ronnie) – look like a million bucks.
Reagan was a chicken hawk, too. If I had been 31 years old when World War II started nothing could have kept me out of the war. Reagan ran the other way — like tough guy John Wayne and other hypocrites.
The crazy leftists have never forgiven Ronaldus Magnus for destroying communism. He did everything they detest, leading the country into 20 years of growth (interrupted only briefly when Bush 41 gave in to the leftist demand for a tax increase.)
The current President Doofus has done everything leftists think ought to be done, and it has all failed (as we all knew it would.) As to corruption, even President Nixon was unable to get the IRS to harass his political opponents – Doofus is the first to co-opt that formerly honest bureaucracy. Not too many presidents ever chose to skip the funeral of a general killed in action, nor have many chosen to do nothing while an ambassador was being murdered by a “youtube video” rebellion that looked a lot like an al Qaeda action. But he’s our Doofus.
What galls them the most is how the real Americans – those people who were not drugged-out during his administration – turned out in such staggering numbers for his funeral.
