“This ain’t the funny pages.” Well, of course not. You’re lucky if there is one semi-funny page these days (“pages” here refers to the dead tree material, not just electronic signals on a display screen). Alas, poor Steve Dallas, framed by the root beer-sotted Three Stooges, Opus, Hodge-Podge, and Bill.Meow.

You should have showed the officer Bill’s Album cover. He would have recognized that Bill is not just any cat, but Bill the cat “Comic Strip EATER!”

I wonder if this is the only panel, in the entire history of Bloom County/Outlands/Opus where Bill speaks “feline”. Except for his trademark “Ack aack”, of course.

The cop has a camel that can yodel? Maybe they can all get together and form a new group.

I don’t think penguins go “chirp chirp”.

Opus is practicing his Rosetta Stone bilingual training, or, from the original comic strip era, Berlitz.

It was only root beer, but then they put it in a square glass …

I bet anything the root beer was spiked! Either that or they were smoking something, as they normally don’t have that much energy…
