"I am king of all I survey!" Linus declares. He stands on a pile of snow, which covers him to the waist.<BR><BR> "This fortress is unassailable!" Linus raises his fist.<BR><BR> "This is an impregnable fortress! No one can take it!"<BR><BR> "I could defend this position from a hundred attackers!" Linus adds, waving his fist.<BR><BR> "I have ammunition enough to fight the whole day!" Lucy stands behind Linus and watches him.<BR><BR> "This fortreess stands firm and unyielding! It is like the Rock of Gilbralter...It is like..." Lucy bends down as Linus talks.<BR><BR> WHOP! Lucy throws a snowball and hit Linus in the head. His cap is knocked off.<BR><BR> Linus stands there. He is dizzy.<BR><BR> Linus turns around and watches as Lucy walks away.<BR><BR> Linus shouts after her: "You'll notice that you had to use strategy, though, didn't you?!"<BR><BR>

You forgot to build a back wall, for the fortress, Linus, so there would not be a "hole"for Lucy to sneak in, and hit you in the back of the head, with a snowball. Boy, whenever Lucy makes Linus lose his hat(his snowhat, in winter, of course)she does so in such a way, that he really DOES lose it(as it is not visible, after he loses it, like here—you’d have thought it would have landed just outside the fortress, but apparently, the blow from Lucy’s snowball must have been SO STRONG, that LInus’ hat flew quite a distance, from the fortress.

I see where calvin and hobbes got the whole “impenetrable fort” idea. its great and i love both strips still thoguh
