This reminds me of my favourite saying:

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana!

ses1066, live in the South for the end of school in May, then quickly move to the North for the start of school in September!

Time does not go too fast. It goes at exactly the speed I intend it. not a minute faster or slower. So there.

Now, if everyone would just quit trying to make me do more and more in that time, it would be much easier.

cryptomaniac said, “Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana!” That one took a long time to get to India. The arrow must have flown into headwinds along the way, or it crossed the oceans on a banana boat. “Day-o! Day-ay-ay-o!” Maybe you were just waiting for the best time to use it here. The play-on-words does have ‘appeal’! I had to ‘slip’ that one in there.

Arty G said, As the frog said, “Time’s fun when you’re having flies!” That’s a clever ‘scramble’ of words from the original. It didn’t lay an ‘egg’! The frog turned into a prince!

GreenJade said, “Ah… time flies !!! The worst kind of flies… don’t we all hate them!” Yes, and “The wicked flee…” The worst kind of flea… we hate them too, even on our dogs and cats! Is that where they flee “when no man pursues”?

Linda Arney, You just made my day-o too! I hope the two posts following your comment add to your day!

CALVIN We currently have an overstock of 10,000,000 balloons which you could use to throw a birthday party for Susie or as water balloons. Imagine how time will slow as you blow up all those balloons for your little girlfriend, or how time will stop as you impatiently wait behind the tree with a dripping water balloon for that six year old vixen to leave the safety of her castle. For no extra charge, we will include instructions for enhancing the fun with pickle juice and perfume. Surprise your Mom! Make friends. Increase your popularity. Act now before summer is gone.

Calvin, As Space Man,Spiff, you could hitch a ride on a light beam. Time would slow down the closer you got to the speed of light. You could find a point where you would never have to go back to school. Of course, there wouldn’t be a whole heck of a lot to do while riding a light beam, in a vacuum, in outer space.

Actually, we are experiencing a simple space-time continuum glitch. Soon, everything will be like it should be….relax, don’t worry…..just forget about that big asteroid that’s….oh, I wasn’t supposed to mention that…..

If I could save time in a bottle The first thing that I’d like to do Is to save every day Till Eternity passes away Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever If words could make wishes come true I’d save every day like a treasure and then Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time To do the things you want to do Once you find them I’ve looked around enough to know That you’re the one I want to go Through time with

A six year old with a wristwatch - now that ‘s interesting. This summer has gone flying by for this 66 year old - far too quickly for my comfort. “God has put eternity into the heart of man…” - tough to read that on your watch….

I love any of the strips with Calvin daydreaming in school. As a teacher, I ask them to write these down, and they begin to think maybe composition class isn’t so bad. By the way, I really enjoy the comments on this strip. Beats most of the others I browse. You are all like family, and ain’t it great!!!!!
