Dumb, really dumb. The Social Security system has been SELF FUNDING for seventy five years. And that’s been as a retirement, survivor and disability system. And it’s done it even though Reagan and Bush II raided it to pay for their own programs.
And it’s done it even though it’s been forced to invest only in the lowest-return Treasury securities.

Yup. This one is unfortunately way too close to the mark. I long ago wrote off ever seeing any of those paycheck deductions again. Flush!
