I rarely have need to use the collective. Whenever I say, “Hey, Sambo” everyone looks at me.

Lyndon Johnson was attributed to saying, "It took me 30 years to learn how to say the word ‘negro’, and they change it on me to ‘black’.

“K.C. Fahel Glocks have 4 safeties and you can not spell your husband company name Sig Sauer it is on the paycheck. PocosDad do not believe every thing you read in the funny papers. If you know nothing about weapons hush”

First of all, my keys sometimes stick; I didn’t realize the “e” wasn’t there. Second, of course I can spell the name on my husband’s paycheck: SECURITAS. Third, the Glock in question didn’t have a safety.

What’s not funny is this forewarned us of the PC crap that was coming down the pipe and we never shut the valve.

I was told about a guy who had recently just returned from Africa and emphatically demanded that he not be referred to as “African-American”… He was nothing like those people.

The new term is “Historically Marginalized People”. It lays guilt uniformly, for everything.

The odd thing is that “African-American” would imply someone born in Africa who emigrated to America. People of African ancestry born here should just be called “Americans”.

Its all really easy. If you have respect for people at all, you refer to them as they wish to be referred to. There is no uniform agreement on anything or any appellation. And until you know what they desire just try using the term “my friend given name”.

I have a white African friend that was born in South Africa and became a US citizen. The college we went to refused to allow him to register as an African American because he wasn’t black. Talk about discrimination because he didn’t fit into their criteria.

Sacha Baron Cohen (AliG/Borat etc) tied the PC plonkers in knots with his Jafaican"Youse is only pickin on me ‘cos I is black…" The said PC plonkers would jump through all sorts of ludicrous hoops rather than risk offending him by pointing out that he was actually black only in the same way that chalk isn’t…….

I’ve known about 5 “African Americans”. 3 of them were black… on the other hand I’ve know quite a few black Americans!
