Not outdated views, but outdated expectations. I myself could easily fantasize the life Andy leads, but I would never even try to make my wife the one that does all the work. Besides, my wife has enough backbone to never even contemplate me trying to do what Andy gets away with. Darn. LOL
It’s clear to see Andy does not love Flo or he wouldn’t expect her to work plus do everything at home while he slept all day and drank all night. If he had the old fashioned ideas the counsellor is talking about he’d be a traditional husband who worked and earned the money and Flo would stay home and take care of the house and kids if they had any. A much more equal distribution of the work.
Cut him a little slack. After all he did get off the couch and put on his coat and shoes and walk all the way to the office for the appointment. (True, he plans to stop at the pub on the way home to make the effort worthwhile.)
