Default is Biden’s decision. He can choose to not pay interest on our debt and instead pay for some other social justice program or maybe paying the bills for 5 million illegal criminal aliens. The revenue is there. With a big jump in revenue due on June 16.

Sick and tired of the Neo Nazi part, GOP, playing games with the USA. They can go have sex with themselves. The rich stopped paying their fair share of taxes in the 1970s. It’s been crap ever since.

A crisis solely of the GOP’s invention. An unconstitutional one at that.

An idiotic crisis needlessly generated by our incresingly dysfunctional and destructive politics. Old school pols who expect good faith negotiation and rational action for the good of the nation are an anachronism.

Gee no surprise that Breen did not call out the GQP cult for yet another time trying to hold America hostage for debts rolled up by GQP presidents instead of stopping it and heaven forbid making the incredibly rich pay taxes as if they were mere mortals. eek!

The problem is Congress. The Debt ceiling is a construct of WWI politicians, but it has been weaponized by politicians in the last couple decades. If that bomb explodes, it does damage, but the real problem is that there is another bomb a year or two behind it. And another, and another…………..

The solution is to invoke the 14th amendment and destroy the concept of the debt ceiling. Yes, it will be litigated, but it has to be tried. If it works the debt ceiling will be no more. The downside is that all the drama will be transferred to the budget debate.

The Billionaire Protection Caucus is trying to hammer out a better deal for the filthy rich.

And Republicans are the terrorist bomb-makers.

Not that I have a vote.. but default. I think the consequences will be laid squarely at Kevin’s feet and come election time the day of the republicans may well be over.

Terrorist Republican traitors want to blow up the USA.

And the Republicans will let it go “Boom!” before anything resembling sanity.

The fact that Republicans refused to negotiate tax increases on the very wealthy shows us that they are bought and paid for by the rich. This debt wouldn’t be so big if it weren’t for the massive tax cuts for the very wealthy and the huge unneccessary defense increase under TFG

We really need some sort of mental & IQ testing done on folks running for congress.

why does the clock show 11:00? shouldn’t it be 11:55?

Should be two red wires.

Better than the clock on the cover of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. That one is three minutes to midnight. If they are right, the debt ceiling is the least of our worries.

The time is closer to being alignment with the doomsday clock.

The national debt is largely imaginary and we will NEVER pay it back. Focusing on it is a way for politicians to pretend to be doing something instead of doing things that benefit anyone’s lives
