Did my son write this? I have never met anyone so happily pessimistic. He feels bad when he feels good for fear he’ll feel worse when he feels better. He thinks the greens in his salad days likely will be poison ivy.
I’ve been that way, feeling the Fates conspire against us, but accepting and anticipating the twist you would think would reduce their joy at playing dice with our lives.
