republicans can’t be woke, they seem unaware of just about everything in the world, except their own grandstanding (of course they make fools of themselves then) and unsubstantiated views of their persecution by people who just want them to do the job they were hired to do in the first place.
they had problems with PC too … doesn’t supprise me they have problems with Woke, is it because both are instructions on how to get along with your fellow people and the world in general? They have problems remembering that we need to leave a livable planet for the next generations and tend to think only that if they have enough money they will be the ones to survive.
Repuglican senators love to rail against the U.S “woke” military, but the most un-woke military in the world is the Russian army, and it’s not working out too well for them.
Might as well embrace the term the political right has demonized as a cover for their racist, anti-feminist, anti-trans, homophobic, anti-union, anti-immigrant, fake free speech agenda.
“woke”, much like ‘politically correct’, is simply showing consideration for your fellow American. conservatives try to demonize those terms. Do conservatives oppose showing consideration, or just oppose Americans?
It is reminiscent of the 90s(?) when you were call xenophobic is you disagree, or even inquire about, almost anything. But, then, I may be just generally disagreeable in general. Workin’ on it.
Y’all seem like smart people, but I don’t see a lot of critical thinking or discussion in these comments. You aren’t proposing any new ideas; you’re saying something to the effect of, “What’s the deal with Republicans these days?”. Then 20 other people respond and say the exact same thing. Talk about an echo chamber.
News flash: Republicans are people who have some sense of critical thinking. They have some sense of compassion. All people do. It’s just a matter of what opinions people identify with, and how willing they are to disregard facts and empathy to maintain those opinions.
Republicans are angry with an alleged oversensitivity expressed by “people on the left” and on the far left. That’s what “Woke” means.
Sure, it’s vague. But so is this weird MAGA stereotype everyone’s blabbering about. There are some patterns in the way Republicans and Trump supporters react, but there are critical thinking and life experiences that push people to support such ideas. “MAGA” Republicans, at least the way they are described in these comments, are actually quite rare. Go talk to a Republican in real life. Most of what they say will probably sound silly to you, but if you learn their story and listen to their thought processes, you might be surprised by how reasonable they can seem. I’m not justifying the scapegoat of a “woke” culture. It is kind of a silly idea.
Stop dehumanizing people by shoving them into large groups. And stop shoving yourselves into large groups.

I’ll be happy to define “woke” according to the Republicans:
Woke (adj.): Everything that I don’t agree with:
Facts
Science
Separation of church and state
Equal rights
Women’s control of their own bodies
LGBTQ
Drag queens
History books that make me uncomfortable
Climate change
Clean energy
Infrastructure
Regulation of banks
Sensible gun control
Voting rights
Rule of law that applies to everyone
Wealthy paying their share
Health care for all
Affordable education
Child labor laws
Et Cetera.
Hope that cleared it up for Uncle Daddy there in the cartoon.
