    Wasn’t paying attention once, dumped too much hot pepper sauce in a big pot of chili. I tried mixing in some rice but it was still way too hot to eat.

    We had a guy on our sub who would put a perfectly good spoon in his Navy coffee and pull out a crumpled, corroded one. He had other tricks.

    If it’s a plastic spoon, and chili is at the boiling point, OK, BUT if the spoon is stainless steel…..not so much.

    They make trick spoons with metal that melts in hot water. You can recover the metal and remake the spoon to do it again.
