What a depressing group of comments today. Even if meant sarcastically.
By the way, an optimist is someone who thinks things can get better and can see existing good. Nothing more. A pessimist is a dreary person who sees nothing good in the world and is sure things will only get worse.
An optimist thinks things are fine, and so does nothing. A pessimist thinks things are terrible, and some one should do something. A pragmatist rolls up the sleeves and goes to work.
I have always thought it better to be a pessimist. An optimist thinks the best will happen and when it does, well, it was just expected. But when the bad happens, the optimist is the one devastated because it was unexpected. The pessimist expects the worse so when it happens, the pessimist is prepared mentally to handle it because it was expected. When better things happen though, the pessimest is happy because, well, unexpected good fortune. Therefore, my theory is that optimists are never truly happy whereas pessimists can find happiness. That’s my theory and as a pessimist, I’m sticking to it.

The Wise A** believing that the pessimist can work through the hurts is optimistic.

The nice thing about being a pessimist is occasionally being pleasantly disappointed.

A pessimist is a pest. A realist disdains both.

Optimists and pessimists are both extremists. One only sees flowers, the other only sees thorns

If you put an optimist and pessimist together, they will anhilate each other. Sorta like matter and antimatter.

How did Wise A$$ on the Hill get so wise by just sitting on a hill?
