My husband is very neat when he eats pistachios, but one night accidentally left the small bowl of shells on the end table next to his chair. One of our cats ate some & made himself sick. One vet hospitalization & $1100 later he was fine, without surgery, thank goodness. We are now even more vigilant, after what we refer to as " The Pistachio Incident."

I’m glad they’ve stopped putting the red dye on the shells because they were a royal PITA to clean off your fingers!
