I forget- is this the first “Lizardbreath”? I recall that being a constant of when I was reading the strip but I don’t recall reading it since I started on GoComics. Did it just not show up as often as I thought, or have I missed it?
Ah, siblings giving each other a hard time. 40 year later, my older sister and I still do that in jest. It never gets old. Seems to be an unwritten rule that it must and will happen all the time.
Interestingly enough my sister and I never hit each other and I was the bratty little brother. Perhaps because my parents didn’t believe in spanking and this was in the 60s, and no they weren’t liberal hippies either. My dad was raised Roman Catholic and my mom Southern Baptist but they hated it when they received it so they did not use it on us.

I even wonder if the friend on the other line is also embarrassed by their older sibling’s bullying.

Why isn’t she just in her bedroom on her smart phone?

Evidently, this strip appeared before the Age of Woke. It seems that violence between siblings was an accepted form of humor back then.

Is that white thing in the last panel Mike’s underwear? So is this the female version of pulling a ‘Wedgie’? From the front?

Lynn, experience really is a great teacher. I love the “redone” strip. Love the original too.

Ah yes, the days when the teenage buttinsky meets the five knuckle shuffle. All is now calm in sibling land. For a while.

If this strip feeds into the stereotype that “siblings must fight”, then why does Michael have a loving relationship with April?

Mike, stay out of trouble, be polite and stop bothering your sister!By the way, good arm, miss!
