The first part of section 4:

The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

The House is responsible for the initiation of all spending bills, no one else.

I like the blurb on the back cover of the book in the last panel. Book title: 14th Amendment for kids and simpletons. Blurb on the back cover: “We know what it says but we don’t care”-Kevin McCarthy-R-CA, Speaker of the House

P6: Even then, it will be too confusing for certain members of SCOTUS, so they’ll just ignore half the words they don’t understand.

Actually, a “Constitution for Dummies” clearly marked and annotated as to its original meaning, may be exactly what the dummkopfs in the Government need

The national debt went up under all Republican administrations as well. BOTH parties spend money, it is where it goes that differs. Plus, it is now a PROVEN facts, cutting taxes for the rich DOES NOT help the economy (or the general population).

This seems unfair to Ms. Yellen, who has admitted the foolishness of the “trillion dollar coin” theory. All this cartoon does is repeat that issue, several times, each one unfunnier than the one before it. (But Mr. McFadden, you have a really good track record. This is your first clinker in a long time.)

Come on Republicans . . . Just pay your credit card bill. We’re all tired of hearing you guys claim that Democrats are fiscally irresponsible.

The 14th amendment also reduces representation in Congress of states the abridge voting rights, and bans those who engage in insurrection from holding office unless approved by a 2/3 majority of congress. Elected officials who swore an oath to uphold the constitution need to uphold the 14th amendment. It would stop a lot of the nonsense going on.
