On the evening of 1/62023 (or 06/01/2023 for the readers outside of the US) McCarthy gave the extremist GQP cult exactly what they wanted. 2 years of chaos and deflection and obstruction paired with absurd investigations and bills to reverse decades if not hundreds of years of decorum and rights. At least 2 years. The fascists were handed more hero status in their cult

McCarthy is the personification of the Republican party at this time—they do whatever the most extreme members of the right want them to do, and they perpetuate the biggest lie of all—that the election was stolen. They do not stand up for the truth. So he’s their poster boy

Dems call for removal of Wisconsin Elections Commissioner for ‘bragging about suppressing voters’

Wisconsin Senate Democrats and voting rights groups have called for Wisconsin Elections Commissioner Robert Spindell to resign or be removed from his post after comments he made celebrating the suppression of Black and Hispanic votes in last year’s midterm elections.

The comments, which Spindell made in a memo to members of the 4th Congressional District Republican Party, were first reported by Urban Milwaukee. In the memo, Spindell, who is also the chair of the district party, cites the party’s work getting Black voters not to turn out as a key reason for U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s re-election.

As I have posted for years, the repubs have become so arrogant that they no longer even try to hide their actions anymore. Mccarthy has openly bragged that the time for revenge has arrived, and he will deal it out with glee.
