A good friend and my son both have birthdays today.

The one day a year I get to tell how surprised I was to learn that groundhogs and woodchucks are the same animal. How much ground would a groundhog hog if a groundhog could hog ground?

All during school (second grade through high school) after learning about silly Groundhog Day, when I had to turn in some paper that day, I always wrote the date as Groundhog Day, 19xx. Some teachers were amused, and two actually reduced my grade for doing that.
