Those who can’t do or teach become critics.

Those who can’t teach, teach the teachers.

… and those who can’t teach, become administrators.

Incredibly tired at the end of each school day?

After 25 years as a teacher, I can definitely say that book has it backwards. It should read;

Those who can . . . teach.

Those who can’t . . .

do . . . something . . . else . . .

P-U-H-LEEZE!!

Are you smarter than a fifth grader?

Of course I was in a room full of fifth graders when I was one.

I remember reading an old essay by Isaac Asimov on how to be a great writer like he was. “You have got to be really passionate and love to write every single day. [Or something like that to my memory.] Those who have the love and talent to be great writers – write! Those who can’t be great writers – teach writing!”

Pffft … most 5th graders these days can’t even write (cursive) … much less do a long division math problem without using a calculator (or that $1500 iphone they all seem to have).

After reading subsets from BC’s dictionary, book of Phrases, and floating tablet, I’ve finally earned a BA degree in BC. Yip yip yip yip yip

Those who can’t do, teach. Those who can’t teach, consult. Those who can’t consult, manage. Those who can’t manage become company Vice Presidents.

There are a number of jobs that I cannot be paid enough money to do. Being a teacher at any level below college is one of them.

And those who can do neither play the victim card, expect something for nothing and vote for left wing nut cases who give it to them from working people’s pockets.

In my last years at work I was asked to put on training for the subjects I had particular experience with. At first I was afraid, I was petrified… [darned earworm!] but once I realized others didn’t understand the same things I didn’t understand at first it was easy: I just taught what I had learned the hard way.

What’s the excuse for the school board? Those who are high, rule?

I’ve found that when I’ve used that phrase… It was very often wrong. Very wrong. I need to apologize to A LOT of people.

The book doesn’t belong to Wiley?

Those who can do. Those who can’t just can’t. They also can’t teach. How can you teach, if you have never done anything? This is why we have a poor education system in the U.S. The can’t are teaching the children to be can’t.

I was left alone when I was student teaching and they climbed out the windows!

And, some of the best teachers are those that do, only not so much.

Those who can’t, make weird electronic music that not even your friends like

Amen! As a teacher, I always hated that expression. I was in the restaurant business for many years before becoming a culinary arts teacher. I DID and then I taught.

As verified by my teacher daughter who was upgraded to teacher guide status.

Those who can, teach. Those who can’t, still do.

According to my kids teachers the problem is not the teaching. It was the filling out of many, many government forms that drove them nuts.

Those who can teach. Those who can’t do other things.

Never have understood that quote and don’t recall ever seeing who it was attributed to. It’s just plain wrong on ever so many levels, so perhaps they don’t want credit for such BS…

The more appropriate quote is:

Those that know, do. Those that understand, teach. — Aristotle

Those who teach, learn.

Those who learn, do.

Those who do, teach.

And I’d say 5th graders are far from the hardest to handle. Depends on the class, though.

I’ve done, I’ve taught, I’ve done again, but 5th graders, no thanks.
