Is it better to be in thrall to the whims of autocrats? Why burn carbon based fuels given their polluting effects when a cleaner option is available? How much American blood will be spilled defending green energy? How much treasure spent defending green energy? In the real world, how is green energy doing?

    https://yearbook.enerdata.net/renewables/renewable-in-electricity-production-share.html

Green energies have been used forever. Pragmatically, it behooves us on so many levels to continue to invest in and develop them. The cartoonist and many in the GOP (not all) have a tunnel vision that is beyond comprehension.

We all know people like Varvel are paid to promote this alternative reality, but what motivates conservatives to so willingly abandon their health and welfare to the oil industry? Selfish ignorance cannot be the only reason.

“Global public subsidies for fossil fuels almost doubled to $700bn in 2021, analysis has shown, representing a “roadblock” to tackling the climate crisis.

Despite the huge profits of fossil fuel companies, the subsidies soared as governments sought to shield citizens from surging energy prices as the global economy rebounded from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Most of the subsidies were used to reduce the price paid by consumers. This largely benefits wealthier households, as they use the most energy, rather than targeting those on low incomes. The subsidies are expected to rise even further in 2022 as Russia’s war in Ukraine has driven energy prices even higher."

    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/aug/31/fossil-fuel-subsidies-almost-doubled-in-2021-analysis-finds

Fossil fuel subsidies increase but those fossil fuel companies are taking the subsidies, keeping their prices high even when their costs decrease, and they fund the climate change deniers. Disgusting.

In a growing, technologically expanding world, green energy will never be able to replace fossil fueled power plants. The only other viable power source available to replace fossils is nuclear. But the Luddite, greenie left has so demonized nuclear as to make almost untenable.

As the Mississippi River dries up we might have to pull the barges down the river. So yes Gary we need to invest in Green Energy before it’s to late. Unfortunately during testing of a Fusion Reactor they discovered a crack in the containment field. Climate Change deniers should have no place in government or society

I’ll bet these stupid liberal posters are “all in” on last week’s news that the U.S. should pay “reparations” to less affluent countries for damage done by Climate Change. For intelligent posters (i.e. Conservatives) but I repeat myself, check out this story in the New York Post…https://nypost.com/2022/11/21/bidens-lunatic-bid-to-pay-poor-nations-for-climate-reparations/

More and more it occurs to me how ESG is treated as the enemy of a growing economy and a major part of the reason for our inflation woes. I wonder of such a path of thought could have been avoided. Both parties and us vs them are to blame for this.
