Another odd thing, but I’m sure it’s a coincidence, is that person most famous for drawing the type of cards Betty is talking about was Thomas Kincaide, and the neighbor Bub is complaining about is named Kincaid.
There’s a house on one of our dogwalk routes, does a crazy big Halloween display. Xmas, nada. Come to think about it, maybe 10% of the houses are decorated. We are not one of those.
I used to walk around the neighborhood and take photos of the decorations in the yards and windows. And I’d share a photo on social network each day. I appreciated that most everyone put their up in Dec or late Nov and had them down before the New Year. But by 2020 there were fewer houses putting anything up, never mind putting things up early. I found it disheartening. Maybe because of the Germ, less family would be coming to visit and people figured, “why bother”. I don’t know.

There’s a weird glitch going on this week at GoComics…
Several cartoonists are unable to upload their new strips, and the syndicate is showing reruns from 2016… including “Betty.”
Yesterday and today both say ©2016 in between panels 1 and 2.
