I used to like Marathons, but they don’t make that candy bar anymore.

I might be able to run a marathon

How many months do they give you to finish?

well, Horace, all you need is a pair of shorts and a headband… then go sit in a chair at the finish line…!

Unfortunately, it’s a decision you have to keep making … for 26 miles. :) :(

I once ran a 5K. It took a lot of time organizing that thing

This calls to mind Mark Twain’s comment that quitting smoking was the easiest thing in the world—he’d done it countless times.

Horace has more in common with humans than his own kind. What a Houyhnhnm’s mind is like without the melding with a ghost spider in the brain. No industrious logic.

There was a guy who wrote a book called “Running” and maintained that if you ran 20 miles a week you would be immune to clogged arteries and even weight gain, independent of diet. I found out the hard way that that was not true about the arteries and had a heart attack at age 50, fortunately not at a dangerous spot. Not too many years later he had a coronary while running and died.

I’ve walked 26 miles in one day, twice. Ending the walk after dark. I wonder if the big marathons have walking categories.

No, Horace, it would have been much, much worse if you had actually tried to run one.

Running a marathon can be exhausting, but not as exhausting as running in a marathon.
