We had a really beautiful fall this year, just like Matt’s gorgeous panels. Now snow coming in tomorrow so this is a nice walk back.

And the Oscar goes to….

First time I see Cat prey of a negative feeling.

In upper Illinois, our October was glorious beyond measure & it continued right into Nov. But, tonight thru Weds, we have snow flurry warnings & could actually get a measurable amount!!! We’ll believe it when we see it, cuz it doesn’t occur as much as it’s supposed to, thank God!!!

This one brought some tears to my eyes. You see, my Mom loved all the colors of the autumn leaves – we would go driving up into the mountains, just to see all those wonderful colors and to walk a bit with the dry leaves crunching underfoot. I still love the colors of autumn and the crunch of the dry leaves, but Mom is gone now; I walk through autumn alone, except for memories.

The color palette is very evocative of the season!

No matter how many times we see it, it still takes our breath away! Lovely!

I feel seen. The Autumn sadness is real.

that…feeling

After 2-1/2 years of quarantine and daily doses of negative social media and political spiting, one must take nostalgia in moderate doses.

No one gets left behind.

I wish I could dry those tears.

I miss the leaf changes and the scent of fires in the fireplace.

This is so right. Even as a tiny kid I was filled with feelings of nostalgia in the fall.

Bunny won’t leave you Cat, but Gocomics.com might abandon you for days.

I was back in the Shenandoah Valley for the first time in 35 years this past weekend. I grew up in DC and went to the Valley nearly every month for 40 years. I haven’t seen colored leaves for 35 years. And most of the leaves were off the trees. Still more than we get down here. It was beautiful and sad. And Cold. I don’t own any shoes any more. The day time high was as cold as it ever is down here.

I got my plushy Cat from MakeShip today! So happy! Beautiful work, just like my Hyena and Ducky.

in the fall we would go down to Louisiana to visit our grandma, she has so many maple and pine trees in the front yard we can barely see the house with all the leaves!
