Oh, I dunno about that “remotely” bit. This is Dec. 4, and Boxing Day is only 22 days away.

It’s kind of like how winter (i.e. – its coldness) can help you appreciate summer (i.e. – its extreme heat) so much more.

Our yard is covered with the second leaf fall. -the first having been vacuumed and hauled. Still mostly colorful and fun for the squirrels.

At least, I think it’s fun. Watched one find a hickory nut in the leaves, bury it, then pull a leaf over it to mark the spot. Did that several times. One leaf for each among thousands of them. : )

Wonder what will happen when it comes back to find its markers, or if these leaves have disappeared like the first.

You’d be amazed how EXTRAORDINARILY vivid a snowfall can be when viewed on a Christmas movie DVD from one’s recliner in Arizona.

What’s drab? Up here in The Great White North, our first snow has melted and the grass is as green as June.

It’s how the world works!

I too love the dark, and damp; dews and danks. Even here in SoCal.

Hate Winter. Starts getting dark around 3:30PM, depressing.

It’s hardly drab with all the Christmas lights.

Well Frazz, those 12-inch snows should make you really ecstatic.

It is interesting how, after the temperature is forty below, we are giddy when it gets UP to freezing.

Yeah, I’m with Canfield one this one! I am not a fan of the cold and short hours of daylight.

We call it “Looking for the pony in the box (…of horsesh**)

…so that means the first snow will be a vivid slap in the face?

House hunting, the current in thing is to paint everything gray and choose gray colored wood flooring. It is really depressing, I keep waiting for the point where I wake up in OZ.

The suffering makes the joys so much more vivid and appreciated. Still I would rather skip it.
