That’s because lying about the economy is more effective in riling up the MAGAts.

Monkeypox is not airborne and has been generally declining in Europe and the Americas since August. Bad news more often makes headlines.

Well monkey pox cases have declined 85% and COVID cases in California have gone from 118,000 a day to 2000 a day. I guess vaccines work.

Nothing mysterious about it. The elections are just more on peoples’ minds after nearly 3 years of virus news.

Maybe because having so many election deniers running for office represents an existentialist threat to democracy.

There are still lots of covid articles and messages for the general public to see. Don’t know how Beckom is avoiding it. Must be some kind of deliberate avoidance.

And monkeypox messaging is focused on tightly on LGBT and not the general population. As a gay man, I run across messages about monkeypox almost daily. But the government and media know that straight people didn’t want to hear about it…and don’t care. So there is no outreach or focus getting information to them.

The RW wasn’t getting any traction because it kept blowing up in their faces so they went with other propaganda.

Weak attempt at starting a pre-election conspiracy there guru. Covid manifested during the last administration and Monkeypox was first noted during the Nixon administration. Now you are erroneously equating Covid and Monkeypox to be a coverup by the current administration? Diseases do not care who is in office but the public sure cares about how a pandemic is reacted to by the administration in power when it occurs. Look at the weak attempt to sweep Covid under the rug in early 2020, so sad, so many American lives could have been saved.

Both diseases are in retreat (especially monkeypox), so the arrival of the mid-term elections is just coincidental. I strongly doubt there will be major upsurge afterward — unless, in the case of COVID-19, it is weather-related (i.e., winter).

I thought the “’conservative” canard was that all talk of Covid-19 would miraculously vanish after the 2020 election (because it was an un-thing to begin with and certainly not Trumpo’s fault in any way, shape, or form). Seems not to have happened. Of course, the Supreme Court’s decisions kind of stepped on the pandemic’s lines.
