Great White sharks are one of the biggest & baddest predators in the sea. Ferocious and voracious, a single minded un-sleeping predator with jaws that will close on almost anything. They stopped evolving ages ago.
Killer whales [who are actually giant dolphins] don’t have much of a problem with the shark. In fact, these mammals organize in teams to hunt them down and kill them. Being much, much smarter — and more numerous, the whales use their advantages cooperatively to survive, thrive, learn and grow.
Trump and his imitators [DeSantis, et al] are the sharks.
MAN, I’m glad I don’t live in Florida any longer. Between the Hurricanes and the BLITHERING IDIOTS IN THE STATE GOVERNMENT AND THE BLITHERING IDIOTS THEY SENT TO CONGRESS, I’m amazed that state still functions.
What are you talking about? Since hurricane Ian the donations to his campaign funds have increased. Republicans use disasters to their monetary advantage, always.
Don’t know how sorry we should feel for those that choose to live on a sandbar. Nice /envious palm to live when the weather is nice.. but, should we collectively share the pain when a wave washes that million+ dollar shack away?
According to mathematical models generated at the University of Kansas (where they’d know about such things), Florida is the flattest state in America. Combine that with the fact that, on average, its elevation is only 100 feet above sea level, and you’d think that nobody in the country should be more concerned about the effects of climate change. It boggles the mind that they keep building beachfront properties there. And people keep investing their retirement savings in them.
40 years ago the phrase used to describe Florida was: “No law south of Fort Lauderdale; No brains North of Okeechobee”. Those lines have merged and both are true.

The insanity of partisanship during a natural disaster is preventing some from seeing his inept governing.

A dam good governor, he promptly asked for federal aid. He knows when to ask, and when to lie.

Down the hatch, DeSantis! Or do I mean, the drain?

DeSantis is protected by the socialist federal government, which will deliver aid to Florida.
The insurance claims and renewals are Florida’s/DeSantis responsibilty, however. Look for a torrent of LIEs about those issues.

Funny, how he downplayed why he waited too long to make an evacuation order. I guess he was hoping they could pray it away.
