The Veep was responding to LONG TERM climate issues, and correctly pointing out that HISTORICALLY it is the poor who suffer more environmental hardship. This statement that was part of a much longer discussion is true. It is being used as “proof” that the Biden administration is being “woke” in response to Hurricane Ian.

Apparently Ramirez does not understand how the word equity is used, and how it should be applied.

I make $100k a year and lost everything. The condo that my apartment that I was buying was in was destroyed. How much will I get?

Down the road some guy with five homes in three other states beach front mansion was flooded. How much will he get?

I am tired of supporting the rich and wealthy in order to make Ramirez thunk things are “fair”.

I live near the Mississippi. The river has a bed it sleeps in all the time and a bed it uses when it decides to have a tantrum, which happens every ten years or so. The government then comes in and gives the people living in the bigger bed enough money to repair the damage— so they get their homes rehabbed for free every ten years. The money is insufficient to just move somewhere else. This system does not provide any incentive to move. Disaster relief for those who live in areas which have the same weather related destruction every few year- fires or mudslides in California, floods along the Mississippi, or hurricanes in Florida should be given enough money to move, if they decide to move. If they choose to rebuild, they shouldn’t receive any money to do so, or for any subsequent destruction.

Man, this just shows that the ultra rich floridian republican donors are a little worried the federal funding for disaster relief might actually go to the people that need it, equitably.

“…. or anything else. Obama never really fixed the disaster of the Bush maladministration, and as for fixing the Trump disadministration, Biden is no Hercules”.

Well of course they can’t do anything about her…she’s not a disaster. Like her or not, she’s doing her job, whether you like (or not) how she’s doing it.

Well…it’s already stacked toward the benefit of some people. They look at monetary value. If two families were impacted, the $500K property will be addressed before the $100K property, because there is more VALUE impacted. If the 500 held TWO people and the 100 held FIVE people, tough luck, not enough value.

Sure is a lot of hate on the Democrat side. No sense of humor and no grasp of reality!
