Looks like Banker Joe is trying to stop a bunch of lawsuits from the lending sector. Jeez everytime I think Biden is shifting to the left (or at least the center) he dodges back to the right. Looks like he even blindsided some of his fellow party members with this reversal.
Republicans do nothing to benefit the average working person while they are in office. When the Democrats take over they do everything they can to obstruct anything they think might earn votes for the Democrats. Then, if the Democrats manage to accomplish something anyway, the Republicans take credit for anything that voters might appreciate in their campaign speeches.
So student loan forgiveness, which was bad, is also bad because it didn’t go far enough.
If you listened to the right wing gnash and wail about loan forgiveness a few weeks ago, you’d think they’d be happy about this recent change. Or maybe mad, because Biden did something they think is right. Or who knows? Sartre pointed out years ago that the lack of logic in right-wing discourse is completely intentional.
Why are so many in the United States against having better doctors, engineers, scientists, etc.? By making advanced education unaffordable to most of us. we are losing many of the smartest and best applicants. Of course, the very rich are happy with that because their offspring can go to the top colleges and even graduate, if they are rated on a bell curve while still having access to the best doctors by going overseas.
Nuff Said…House Speaker Nancy Pelosi disputed the notion that President Biden has the authority to unilaterally cancel students’ federal loans.“People think that the president of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness,” Pelosi said during her weekly news conference on Wednesday. He does not. He can postpone, he can delay, but he does not have that power. That has to be an act of Congress.”Pelosi said the subject should be taken up by Congress as a matter of policy. That’s a policy discussion,” she said. “But the president can’t do it, so that’s not even a discussion. Not everybody realizes that, but the president can only postpone, delay and not forgive.”The California Democrat also said she doesn’t think all Americans would be on board for forgiving the debt. ” Suppose, your child at this time does not want to go to college, but you’re paying taxes to forgive someone else’s obligation. You may not be happy about that,” she said.

Yes, it’s horrible-terrible that Biden is forgiving federal student loans and he shouldn’t. But he should forgive all of them.
Or something.

Lisa’s upset because Biden is only forgiving the loans he has legal authority to forgive. She wants him to forgive her credit card debt, too.

Surprise! Another train analogy applied to a blatant prevarication. Keep up the predictable work.
