Lisa Benson, as usual, is at best speaking from ignorance. Over the last 18 months, roughly one third of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve has been drained. The SPR is nowhere close to running dry, whatever false images Ms Benson is willing to draw.

Yet again, Lisa demonstrates how little she understands of economics or the cause of current price hikes, especially when it comes to energy.

    1. Trump’s early mismanagement of the COVID pandemic allowed a situation that could have quickly been contained if addressed early and aggressively, to instead cause massive unemployment, supply chain collapse and the resulting shortages that lead to an inflationary supply/demand imbalance.

    2. Corporations allowed to run roughshod over workers and consumers with minimal regulatory oversight jacked up prices far in excess of even the natural supply/demand imbalance, causing record profits that were many times greater than past growth, i.e., illegal PRICE GOUGING.

    3. In April of 2020, Trump coerced Saudi Arabia and OPEC to slash oil production (so Trump’s U.S. oil company donors could increase profits), under the threat that if they did not cooperate, they would lose U.S. military support. In the meantime, Trump also worshipped the glowing Islamic orb with the butcher Mohammed bin Salman (who brutally murdered a U.S. journalist, Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi) and whose golf tournaments Trump would later host after the American people fired him.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-oil-trump-saudi-specialreport/special-report-trump-told-saudi-cut-oil-supply-or-lose-u-s-military-support-sources-idUSKBN22C1V4

Biden reversed that policy and, after he did so, oil prices plummeted and have steadily declined since, which should have a ripple effect of lowering prices on goods transported by fossil fuels while the supply chain bottlenecks also ease, if we can rein in the illegal PRICE GOUGING. Yeah, yeah, the elderly Biden got criticized for his fist bump [eye roll] but he demanded that increased production be restored and oil prices have plummeted since.

Since inflation is far lower in the U.S. than the rest of the world, Biden must be doing something right.

Gas prices here in NYC are falling. I’m so sorry that most folks live in areas where the prices are rising! These oil companies are nothing but licensed criminals!

If POTUS controlled prices of gas and other goods, then surely everything would be cheap… or free!

Even if true (which isn’t a christian conservative strongpoint), Lisa is promoting the need for a complete transition to Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Bioplastics, and Sodium-Ion batteries. All of these are readily available and cost effective. But the only reason Lisa and friends refuse to accept this reality is because reality is on the side of the Liberals and Democrats who are promoting transition to renewable energy.

Who on Earth would deliberately sabotage our national security by selling out our strategic oil reserves just to score political points before an election? Oh, that’s right. Democrats would.

I bought gas earlier this week at $2.80 a gallon. Today it is $3.29.

Why? – My answer is Hurricane Ian.

What does it have to do with the oil reserves? – Nothing, really.

How is it Biden’s fault? – It is not.

What can we do about it? – Buy a gosh durned EV for goodness sake! Install solar on youur gosh darn house!

And when you buy your gosh durned EV, the gosh durned governor of California will tell you not to dare plug it into the grid. Why? Because California has no energy policy. Not even one based on pixie dust, like Brandon’s.

Hey, Lisa, thanks to Biden’s willingness to use the national oil reserves to increase oil supplies, gasoline prices are one the decline. Although, I did wish he could’ve done nothing and let the prices surge upward and push more ICE vehicles out toward EV’s.

Biden should simply legislate the price of gas lower by executive order. That would make Lisa happy.

All because of Putin’s Terrorist attack on Ukraine.

The world is now learning why more should have been done when Putin/Russia invaded Crimea.

Let him threaten nukes, as insane as Putin is, he’s not dumb enough to do it. One nuclear bomb of any size will warrant a full scale conventional attack of Russia by the rest of the world. This needs to end with Russia pulling out of all of Ukraine, including Crimea and Russia paying the full bill to rebuild Ukraine and people’s lives that have been destroyed.

Biden ran on shutting down domestic oil production. First day in office he shut down the Keystone Pipeline. 2 oil refineries were not given new permits to operate. We were oil independent the day Biden took office. Even if you try and blame Putin, Biden knew about a shortage in March and could have increase production so today we would have more oil.

Here in Sacratomato @ Sam’s regular unleaded went from $4.65 to $5.75 yesterday. Above $6.00 everywhere else around me. Just in time for the Election, not that it matters in cobalt blue Kalifornia.

Gas prices ticked up a notch because of refinery issues in California & effects of Hurricane Ian. Meanwhile, the average markup of oil from wholesale to retail is about $1.27, compared to a typical 90 cents for this time of year. Oil companies will always use any opportunity to price gouge.

Repubs never expressed any concerns while Trump reduced the SPR by around 60 million barrels for no clear reason.

Let’s see here. Biden sells our strategic oil reserves to the Chinese (NOT our friends) at a high price, in order to lower prices. Now with our strategic reserves depleted he has to restock them at a HIGHER price. Probably buying from a company where his son or brother are board executives that get bonuses and high salaries.

For the ‘big guy’ of course. He has to get his cut. Pelosi’s son is also involved and I seem to recall Kamala has links to the money laundering scheme. But Trump is the bad one. . . .

The cognitive dissonance of Democrats is astounding.
