Mom needs rest but good luck getting any.

I remember those nights. If I tried to sneak back in bed, she’d start crying, which led to coughing….

Elle needs an energy transfusion from April. If she could harness April’s energy she could power the house, or at least reduce the power bill by quite a bit.

This is when a stasis chamber for the kid would come in handy..

When I was 20 my 5 year old brother caught chicken pox and gave it to me. He had a great time staying home from school. I was miserable.

Looks like April has already gave the cold to you!

If April is well enough to be jumping around like Lawrence’s Kansas City compatriots, she is well enough to be in school.

Fortunately, kids recover from being sick pretty quick. Unfortunately, parents don’t recover from sickly kids as quickly.

Kids are carriers… they get a cold and sniffles. Adults get a serious illness, including pneumonia.

Coughing … Covid test!!!

Luckily she has a wonderful daughter like Elizabeth

Oh Boy! Is there a parent out there who hasn’t “Been there – done that?”

No rest for the weary.

It ain’t easy being Mom……..

Ellie is using April as an excuse so SHE can stay home.

Lynn drew April with a cold: see the drippy nose, but the child is active after getting a good night’s rest.

Even then, in the 1990’s, when my kids were that age, we got notices not to send them to school with drippy noses and/or if they had a cough.

So yes, mom (or dad) would have to stay home with the children, unless they had a neighbor with a sick kid at home, and that neighbor was a stay-at-home parent, or if there was a retired granmother or grandfather close by who could come over…
