that’s a good thing about working in a grocery store: if you forgot your lunch from home (or if you’re assigned a short shift and have been asked to extend with a lunch break), you can always buy yourself one right in the store
To my Northern neighbors, Happy Remembrance Day. And to us Americans, Happy Veterans Day.
P.S. My Granddad fought in France in the Washington State National Guard, (1917 – 1918). He, (my Granddad), while in the Idaho National Guard was with General Black Jack Pershing chasing Pancho Villa in Mexico. My Dad was a Korea War Veteran. I was in the Navy, (mid 1970s – mid 1980s), among other things picking up Vietnamese boat people and being in the Persian Gulf during the Iranian Hostage Crises.
I see a photo album coming out with a picture of baby Michael naked in the bathtub being shown, I see Liz getting sweet revenge on Michael with stories she will tell. I see much laughter by most and embarrassment by one. Ah yes, the life in a typical family with multiple siblings.
This was a step i somehow missed while growing up. I never had anyone over for dinner or went to their place to eat. Of course by the time i was Michael’s age I was still living ar home but cooking and looking after things for my dad, because my mother had died and, being the only child still young enough to be at home taking care of him became my responsibility.
Reminds me during my dating years with my now-wife of 30+ years. Every Thanksgiving I ended up at three houses over the Thanksgiving weekend – family, girl friend’s and best friend. Quite a stuffing weekend.

Wonder what Liz is cooking?

Then isn’t it about time for some disclosure (with sympathetic perspective) of things little sister is going to tell her?

i remember when a date meant having dinner together at your mom’s house then cuddly on the family sofa in the den and watching TV together.

I guess Martha never made it to the “come over for dinner” stage.

I recall thinking they ought to get married, back when this strip originally appeared.
